When 2000ad first came out it blew my mind. I had already been fully absorbed into the Star Wars Universe, but even before that Star Trek, the sci fi worlds of Gerry Anderson , Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon and the the influence of my parents who where also liked this kind of stuff.
It will not be a surprise to find out, that when the Dark Judges appeared they where a number one hit for me.
Unfortunately , I don’t read 2000ad anymore. I have tried. When Pat Mills and his pals first brought it to life it was written wonderfully. Although it was aimed at kids, it skirted that close edge of something a bit dangerous that we shouldnt read and your parents would not approve ( although my Dad liked it!). Pat Mills always describes it as a bit punk rock. I’d agree. With a cheeky bit of humour and its tongue firmly placed in its cheek. These days, however, the stories and content are written for adults. My age. Just like most of the Big company comics are. They all seem pretty dark and a bit miserable.
Anyway, I did some of my first purely digital work based on the judges. I Had know idea what I was doing, but have always liked them. I have no idea what software I used or brushes! So here you are! Please don’t JUDGE!!
Thanks again! Any support is greatly appreciated!

More importantly, remember the rules for drawing monsters, the weird and the wonderful!
1. They are not real, so draw them any damn way you want.
2. Forget stuff like anatomy. Who cares.
3. Use any tool and as many as you like as long as it makes an unholy mess.
4. Most importantly, have some bloody great fun!
I feel like your Dark Judges would make great beer mats!
