Monster Rambles 07 Make Art for Sounds!
Attempts at the Music Industry , wrong place, wrong time.
Here are a few examples of the limited amount of work I have done for musicians. Soloman Tump was a drone artist I met through Instagram. I was channelling my Russel Mills/ David Mckean vibe for sure. I did train as a fine artist and still create stuff like this.
This was for a local grincore band. Not sure if they are still going. An old school friend was the bassist . I also did a t shirt for them.
This was great fun, being a massive fan of Mark Riddick . I would love to do more stuff like this.
No idea what happened to these guys. Sci Fi Death Metal. Never came to be.
Rib-Cracking grind thrash outfit from essex.
Jim and the gang at Dark Earth Records , metal music store in Wallasey . He asked if he could use this design on t-shirts and patches. Of course I said yes. Magnificent chap and shop!
I created this for the podcast May Contain Metal. I reallly like the guys so created this bit of fan art for them.
When I first started trying to get more music gigs, as I always wanted to do album covers, everyone was doing CD’s and vinyl had pretty much died. Then the MP3 streaming was born into the world , so all the budgets dried up. Wrong place, wrong time. I never tried again until a few people asked me via instagram. I’ve never really tried to get back into it, but what with the rise of vinyl and other physical media maybe i should.
Hope you enjoyed that bit of Dansmonsters history!

More importantly, remember the rules for drawing monsters, the weird and the wonderful!
1. They are not real, so draw them any damn way you want.
2. Forget stuff like anatomy. Who cares.
3. Use any tool and as many as you like as long as it makes an unholy mess.
4. Most importantly, have some bloody great fun!
